DEWA's Advancement in Energy Storage and Renewables

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) keeps on leading headways in environmentally friendly power energy storage, answering the rising dependence on clean sources like solar power. With an emphasis on state of the art advancements, DEWA's drives range from the world's biggest solar park to inventive green hydrogen projects and experimental battery storage systems.

In adherence to the visionary directives of His Greatness Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, DEWA CEO HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer frames plans for an exhaustive energy stockpiling framework utilizing electric batteries at the Mohammed receptacle Rashid Al Maktoum Sunlight based Park. This lines up with Dubai's ambitious clean energy objectives, by 2050, the goal is to be entirely dependent on renewable energy sources.

One of DEWA's lead projects, the 950MW fourth period of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, remains as the world's biggest single-site solar park. Combining hybrid technologies, including a solar power tower and photovoltaic solar panels, this drive lessens fossil fuel byproducts by 1.6 million tons yearly, denoting a huge step towards sustainable energy.

DEWA is dedicated to developing innovative hydroelectric power facilities using pumped storage, such as the Hatta Dam project. With a 1,500 MWh storage capacity and a quick 90-second response time to electricity demand, the 250 MW station is built for efficiency.

The innovative Green Hydrogen Project at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park further exhibits DEWA's pioneering endeavours. Creating 400 kilograms of green hydrogen every day, the venture showcases the potential for renewable energy storage and its applications, including fuelling ENOC Group’s green hydrogen station at Exhibition City Dubai.

DEWA is also working on battery-based energy storage system experiments. DEWA's dedication to sustainable energy production and storage is reaffirmed by a new patent application that discloses an innovative way to improve the performance of electrodes in lithium-ion batteries.

As DEWA continues to set the standard for clean energy agreements, these initiatives emphasize Dubai's dedication to environmental sustainability.
