Dubai's Clean Energy Goal 92.5 Million Tons of Carbon Emissions Are Reduced By DEWA

Under the direction of HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) accomplished a noteworthy milestone in increasing the efficiency of water and power production. DEWA's efficiency increased by 41.73% in 2023 over 2006, which led to significant drops in carbon dioxide emissions.

The MD and CEO of DEWA, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, emphasized the authority's dedication to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, highlighting Dubai's status as a global centre for green economic development and clean energy.
"We are committed to improving the efficiency of energy and water production by implementing cutting-edge technologies in all of our projects and facilities, as well as by innovating and upgrading our production plants on a regular basis," stated Al Tayer.

The Executive Vice President of Generation (Power & Water) at DEWA, Nasser Lootah, provided further details on the cutting-edge techniques that DEWA uses. By utilizing waste heat from gas turbines, cogeneration technology maximizes electricity generation and provides thermal energy for the desalination of water. Throughout the course of the plant's lifecycle, DEWA's hybrid desalination system ensures maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness by integrating multiple technologies.

DEWA is committed to ongoing development of its operating and maintenance modes in order to further increase efficiency. DEWA's dedication to quality is exemplified by its partnerships with top gas turbine manufacturers, which guarantee improved efficiency and dependability.

DEWA makes a big advancement in environmental management and sustainability. DEWA's sustained innovation and strategic initiatives will be crucial in determining Dubai's position as a premier worldwide centre for sustainable development and clean energy in the future.
