UAE-based META4 to invest Rs 250 Cr in India for EV 2 wheeler plant

META4, located in the United Arab Emirates, has announced a Rs 250 crore investment in Telangana to establish an electric two-wheeler manufacturing unit.

According to a corporate statement, the Telangana government would grant 15 acres of subsidised land in the national investment and industrial zone at Zaheerabad.

The factory will help the state produce approximately 500 direct and 2,000 indirect employment. The EV 2-Wheeler unit is planned to be completed by the end of fiscal year 2022-23.

According to Muzammil Riyaz, Group CEO of META4, "With this investment with the Telangana government, META4 plans to provide quality-driven EVs to the Indian market in compliance with the 'Fame2' approvals set by the Indian regulatory authorities."

According to META4, the investment was made through Voltly Energy, which offers cutting-edge EV 2-wheeler manufacturing and offers energy-efficient EV charging solutions for all electric cars.

In the presence of KT Rama Rao, the state's IT and industries minister, and Jayesh Ranjan, the department's principal secretary for industries and commerce, information technology, and I&C, Volty Energy's executive team signed an MoU.

"The state is quickly becoming a preferred location for the industry that makes electronic vehicles. We promise to give Voltly Energy all the assistance they need to get the appropriate permits to build up their plant "said the Minister.

In the plant's initial phase of operation, Voltly Energy plans to produce at least 40,000 units, and during the next three years, it wants to boost capacity to 100,000.

The new production facility will integrate automation, the newest semi-robotics, and state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment.

Aditya Reddy, Director of Voltly Energy Pvt. Ltd., stated, "To meet the rising EV industry in India, we not only aspire to service our clients in India but also export vehicles to other worldwide markets."
