KENYA CO-OPERATIVE COFFEE EXPORTERS-KCCE
Kenya Co-operative Coffee Exporters Ltd was established in the year 2009 as a Co-operative society fully owned by Co-operative movement. It is a National Co-operative, 100% owned by the Co-operative movement and has no individual or Government shareholding. It has share capital of Kshs. 307 Million from Co-operative societies and Unions.
KCCE was formed to address the various challenges that were facing the coffee farmers relating to production, quality, marketing and value addition of coffee and to take advantage of the "second window" and allow farmers to market coffee through direct sale and fetch better returns. In essence, KCCE had a clear mandate to promote, organize and undertake the milling, marketing and value addition of coffee (and such other products and commodities as the Society may decide from time to time) in the local and export markets in order to maximize returns to farmers and thereby promote their social economic welfare.
To drive the mandate of obtaining the best coffee prices, KCCE has two subsidiaries:
a) Kenya Co-operative coffee Millers-Now dormant due to coffee regulations
b) Kenya Co-operative Coffee Deal |
