2016 Chevrolet Captiva Receives Updates For The Middle East

For 2016 model year, the Chevrolet Captiva adds some substance to an already promising small SUV.
Upfront, its more aggressively styled grill and new headlights with some LED jewelry give the SUV a more modern look.

Out back, changes are less dramatic with a new rear fascia that integrates dual chrome exhaust tips and LED tail lamps. LTZ trimmed Captiva’s will sport integrated stainless steel side steps and two-tone, machine-faced 19-inch wheels. Three new interestingly named colors — Sun of a Gun Gray Metallic, Old Blue Eyes Metallic and Burnt Coconut Metallic — will also be available.
Inside, Chevrolet MyLink takes charge with new features such as phone projection technology that gives drivers the ability to use their smartphone’s interface on the center screen. The full-color touchscreen is also home to radio and navigation controls, but (thankfully) keep dedicated knobs for HVAC controls.

Other new safety technologies like Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are making their introduction on the 2016 model. These features use rear radar sensors to monitor the vehicle’s side blind spots and oncoming traffic with backing up. The 2016 Captiva will also feature Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, dual front and curtain airbags, and dual pre-tensioner seatbelts.

To match it’s more sporty look, the 2016 model employs an improved final drive ration that enables the driver sprocket to turn fewer times to turn the wheels or drive axel. All Captivas come with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder (E85-capable) gasoline engine that puts out 167 horsepower and about 170 lb-ft of torque. This is paired to a six-speed automatic with Driver Shift Control.
2016 Captivas are now on sale in several countries throughout the Middle East.
