Charging stations for electric cars are being installed at Abu Dhabi Golf Club following a tie-in with the capital’s Porsche dealer. Porsche Centre Abu Dhabi, Ali & Sons Co is sponsoring the arrival of charging points in the clubhouse car park. The initiative will also see the Cayenne S E-Hybrid become the model of choice for club members being chauffeured to the course. Furthermore, the venue will play host to Porsche’s Abu Dhabi Golf Cup, set to take place in February 2017. A news release said that the arrival of the hybrid 4×4 shows the brand’s investment in alternative fuel technology. Initially debuting at the Paris Motor Show in 2014, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid has a top speed of 243 km/h, with an electric top speed of 125 km/h. Darren Abel, Brand Manager of Porsche Centre Abu Dhabi – Ali & Sons Co, said: “We are thrilled to work in partnership with Abu Dhabi Golf Club towards creating awareness about the latest eco-friendly developments whilst entering into a sport many of our customers enjoy. Porsche enthusiasts can look forward to competing in the Porsche Golf Cup Qualifier where five finalists will earn the place to represent Abu Dhabi at the Porsche Golf Cup World final played in Mallorca next year.”
