A Dubai 10X Initiative – an motivated project overseen by the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) showcased the project earlier in the month of Feb at the World Government Summit, which was approved by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council and Chairman of DFF’s Board of Trustees, among a bundle of avant-garde proposals for Dubai 10X.

“ The Authority will begin implementing the register as of Q1 2018, in the hopes of launching the completed system by 2020,” said Al Tayer revealed.

He further mentioned that Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) plans to work with strategic partners, with IBM coming on board as strategy formulation consultant, while future partners include government entities such as Dubai Customs, Dubai Police, the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED), the Emirates Authority For Standardization and Metrology (Esma), Emirates ID, and the Ministry of Interior

The entire concept of the project is to improve the customer experience by providing a complete view of a Vehicle lifecycle, using Blockchain technology, beginning from the manufactures all the way to the scrap yard.

This would provide vehicle transparency and trust in vehicle transactions, avoiding dispute and reducing the cost of any services. It would keep a track of details such as sale, accident history, and ownership, to create smart and more efficient systems.

The project by Dubai 10X is to position the Dubai Government entities ahead by 10 years as compared to the world in all sectors.
