The Roads and Transport Dubai (RTA), owners of used cars Dubai,just made your life more easier.As per a recent announcement now you get five Salik services on the Dubai Drive app by the RTA. These services include opening a Salik account as well as fine payment along with other services.

This latest Dubai Drive app update is a step toward the 2021 Dubai Government Paperless Strategy. It aligns with RTA’s efforts of digital migration and smart services.

Moreover, these services increase customer satisfaction by providing easy access to services. Previously, this app was only helpful to top up the Salik account and detecting Salik toll gates.

The services being offered on the app are:

Creating a personal account

Addition or updating a number to Salik account

Joining the Salik and the RTA account

Payment of fines

Objecting to any reported offences

To drive a car in Dubai possesing Salik car tags are a necessity. This gradual shift towards smart services are also in support of making Dubai one of the smartest cities in the world.

According to Maher Shirah (Director of Smart Services at the RTA’s Corporate Technology Support Services Sector), “Dubai Drive app has been designed to reflect ideas and suggestions of the public. As we are keen to make sure that our services calculate up to customer wants and expectations. Launch of more smart services will help Dubai Government Paperless Strategy 2021.”

He also added that apart from this, other services will be added to this app as well. The range of services this app will provide includes revealing vacant parking spots, drivers licensing, vehicle licensing, traffic fines payment as well as obtaining approvals from the RTA on specific transactions.
