USD 27 million has been invested by Dubai to promote business opportunities in Africa


In the process of raising awareness and investment opportunities in African continents, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce has reportedly invested around USD 27.2 million in last five years, announced by the government, stating Africa as an international trading arm of Dubai.

Promoting Dubai as an attractive business hub for African countries was the main aim behind this investment, stated by President and CEO of Dubai chamber Hamad Buamim on the second day of Global Business Forum (GBF) in Dubai. He further said that the efforts have shown a major boost in the UAE-Africa business ties with increasing cooperation between business and investors on both sides.

Currently, Africa has been the second fastest continent after Asia in terms of economic growth. After one and half-decade, the status of Dark Continent has been eliminating by seeing the rapid growth in some of its major countries like Kenya.

The chief economist of Standard Bank Goolam Ballim said that Dubai chamber had held the conference to remove the gap between investors and potential companies of Africa to extract the potential of this massive continent.

Dubai has put a lot of investment and money in this platform to reduce the knowledge gape and letting the people know it. The first Global Business Forum on Africa was held in 2013, and ever since its participation has grown steadily over the last five years. The chamber has reduced the gape even more by opening four offices in Africa.
