Dubai municipality to develop 70 Parks and Playgrounds In 2020


In 2020, Dubai Municipality (DM) completed the development of 70 parks and playgrounds in various emirate residential areas, bringing the total number of parks and playgrounds built by DM up to 185 since its creation. In addition to five pond parks in Al Barsha, Al Quoz, Al Nahda, Al Qusais and Al Khawaneej, the Municipality of Dubai has already developed five major parks in different parts of the Emirate, including Mamzar Beach Park, Creek Park, Mushrif Park, Zabeel Park and Safa Park.


Commenting on the achievement, Dubai Municipality Director-General Dawoud Al Hajri said: With building parks and playgrounds, we aim to provide meeting places for neighborhood children and people from all segments of society.


We maintain a clear feedback loop with the group and accept neighborhood resident suggestions. As part of achieving holistic and sustainable development of residential neighborhoods and playgrounds, Dubai Municipality places a high emphasis on fulfilling the requirements of senior citizens, people of determination, children and various other segments of the population. According to the state-run news agency, Wam, the development of the parks and playgrounds was completed under the guidance of His Highness Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum , Vice President and Premier of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.


Al Hajri added: We are motivated by the strong interest of our leadership in ensuring the peace and welfare of all segments of society. The construction of residential community parks and playgrounds is part of the Municipality's dream of creating a healthy and prosperous city and its goal to design, create and maintain an exemplary city that represents the essence of sustainable living.
