UAE gaining eminence with more international online grocery platform


UAE has received a grocery e-commerce platform from Waitrose & Partners. This portal constitutes of over 15,000 quality drinks and food a medium of online grocery shopping for consumers.

Along with the weekly shopping the website of Waitrose & Partners UAE also shares with its consumer’s inspirational meals, tips on cooking and seasonal recipes. In assisting consumers cook and plate up their desired meal at home, the ‘add to basket’ permits the consumers to shop for their desired recipes with just one click.

The consumers have an option to choose from an array of UAE's local produce, which consists of free-range eggs, organic salmon, fresh vegetables and fruits. The shoppers also has the freedom to purchase the own products of Waitrose & Partners.

The online grocery platform will provide each week of over 2,800 delivery slots. Giving the customers a choice daily from three delivery time slots, making it feasible to reach across 1,500 homes in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

With at least an order amount of Dhs100, the order can be placed for even just 2 hours before the selected delivery time. Policies made very clear where delivery charges of Dhs15 will be levied on purchase of products below Dhs350 and for orders above Dhs350 it will be delivered free of cost.

The brand’s modern e-commerce platform has arrived in the midst of Covid-19 which has increased consumer acceptance towards online shopping. The UAE-based consumers in this pandemic have stimulated around 79 per cent of their transition from offline shopping to online purchasing. A 25% increase is estimated in the online grocery delivery in the UAE grocery market by end of 2025.
