UAE's Food Security Summit with Indian horticulture produce


J&K Government delegation will take part in the 4-day Indian-EAU Food Security Summit 2020 in Dubai in order to promote Kashmiri fruits in particular Apple in international markets. The main intent of the Summit is to endorse Kashmiri fruits in the international market and to exchange some MoUs with various UAE multi-national companies . The delegation is holding a Fruit Show and a Business to Business meeting to publicize the fruits to various UAE multi-national companies which are grown in J&K.

The delegation of the J&K Government is headed by Kumar Choudhary, the Principal Secretary of Horticulture , Director of Horticulture Kashmir Ajaz Ahmed Bhat and a multitude of Growers and farmers and Industrialist who will be attending the summit.

In his speech, Principal Secretary Navin Choudhary said that India and the UAE are enjoying a friendly relationship and that this summit is deepening the relationship where "our cooperation in the primary sector, especially food security, could be strengthened between the two countries."

"It should be noted that during the launch of the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS)-2020 for Apple, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said, "The horticulture industry, in particular, has an immense growth potential and the J&K Government is making every effort to exploit the potential to give a fillip to the socio-economic situation of all those associated with the sector and contribute to it. Also contributing to the betterment of livelihood of Apple Growers”.

Officials said that the entire intention of this event and discussions is that the business houses of the two countries are coordinating efforts to improve and strengthen the marketing of Indian and UAE agricultural and horticultural products.

Shahid Kamli, the President Federation Chamber of Industries and Commerce Kashmir (FCIK) and a the delegation representative thanks to the imitative of Manoj Sinha the UT Governor.

Yes, it's a very welcome move and a step that will improve the market. Thanks to Lt. Governor Navin Choudhary, Principal Secretary of the Department of Horticulture, and Aman Puri, India's General Counsel in Dubai, for making it happen and hope for its progress.

"I have great hope of opening our goods to the foreign market and in this pandemic too. The hosts embraced us overwhelmingly, and everybody is very likely to have a take." He added.
