Dubai Customs to assist in the development of foreign trade


Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi paid a visit to Dubai Customs to see the new ventures and programs in the development of international trade.

Sultan bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World Group and Chairman of Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, and Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs, as well as executive directors and heads of customs divisions, greeted him.

During the conference, a comprehensive presentation was given on the advancement of international trade in Dubai, as well as the role of Dubai Customs in achieving trade growth by providing the best services and facilities to companies. The presentation also discussed Dubai Customs' strategies for combating dumping and protecting international trade from certain risks.

During his visit, Al Zeyoudi was briefed on the new measures and programs, as well as the efforts made to advance the sector in accordance with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, which call for client satisfaction, smooth operations, and advanced facilities.

"The foreign trade market is a major driver of diversification and growth in our national non-oil GDP. Without a doubt, Dubai Customs plays a critical role in this regard as well as in the development of the customs industry. Our visit to Dubai Customs was very positive, and we witnessed the exceptional efforts made here to grow the industry and improve the efficiency of the foreign trade sector. Customs and trading facilities are at an all-time high, which bodes well for the growth of the international trade market and a swift rebound from the Covid-19 crisis," Dr. Al Zeyoudi said.

"We closely work with Dubai Customs to ensure the strongest coordination between federal and local institutions to achieve the national vision and leadership, and improve our standing and competitiveness, in line with the criteria of the UAE Centennial 2071," Al Zeyoudi said." Sultan bin Sulayem expressed gratitude to Al Zeyoudi for his visit.
