Dubai Chamber showcases business opportunities in Ghana's healthcare

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry's representative office in Ghana recently co-hosted a webinar with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and Dubai Investment (DI) that explored investment, market, and opportunities for collaboration in Ghana's healthcare and manufacturing sectors.

The virtual event, which drew 236 participants from the UAE and Africa, acquainted UAE companies with new investment opportunities in Ghana's healthcare and manufacturing sectors, as well as existing synergies that could be built with Ghanaian healthcare companies in the post-Covid period.

Omar Khan, Director of International Offices, Dubai Chamber; Yofi Grant, CEO, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC); and Sreekumar Brahmanandan, Director of Operations, Dubai Investments Industries (DI) were among the speakers and panelists who took part in the webinar.

In his remarks to participants, Khan discussed the UAE-Ghana trade ties, which he claims have grown significantly since the establishment of the Dubai Chamber's representative office in Accra six years ago. Since then, non-oil trade between Dubai and Ghana has nearly doubled to $1.7 billion in 2019, with the Chamber organizing several trade missions to Dubai to introduce Ghanaian business leaders to market opportunities.

He also mentioned that the Dubai Chamber's representative office in Accra is ready to assist UAE companies interested in learning more about doing business in Ghana.

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, established in 1965, is a non-profit public body whose mission is to serve, support, and protect the interests of the business community in Dubai by creating a favorable business climate, promoting business growth, and promoting Dubai as an international business hub.
