Saudi Arabia issues its first 3D printing licence, first of its kind in the Kingdom

Immensa Technology Labs, a Dubai-based integrated additive manufacturing solution provider for businesses, has secured a 3D printing licence for additive manufacturing from Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Investment, becoming the country's first of its kind.

The 3D printing licence is in line with the Kingdom's efforts to modernise its economy by implementing advanced manufacturing technology and attracting foreign companies that work in the sector.

Immensa Technology Labs has purchased a 10,000-square-foot industrial additive manufacturing facility in Dammam, with plans to open a network of additional 3D printing hubs in Saudi Arabia.

“Immensa's facility in the KSA includes metal, non-metal, post-processing, and testing facilities for oil and gas parts, the first-of-its-kind in the region,” the company said in a statement released on the occasion of receiviang the 3D printing licence.

The Kingdom has the largest manufacturing base in the country, according to Fahmi Al-Shawwa, CEO of Immensa Technology Labs, and it has received strong interest from Saudi-based companies for its services.

Immensa's regional activities will be managed from its Saudi offices, which are currently based in Dubai.
