DED promotion entity certified Hotpack as 'verified exporter'


Dubai Industries & Exports, the Department of Economic Development's (DED) export promotion entity, has certified Hotpack Global, the world's leading manufacturer of disposable food packaging products as a "Verified Exporter". Recognising the company's importance as a top and dependable exporter from the UAE.

In addition, Hotpack stated that certification will contribute to the UAE's goal of making a qualitative jump towards the industrial sector the national economy's key catalyst in 10 years' time.

“The certification also comes at a time when we are focusing heavily on growing our export footprints. We presently export to 95 countries around the world, and in the coming months, we will pass the 100-country mark,” said P.B. Abdul Jebbar, managing director of Hotpack Group.

Because of its manufacturing strength, he noted, the company has been able to maintain its export growth trajectory. “Our completely automated, state-of-the-art factories are seeking to achieve 4.0 industry standards while ensuring best-in-class business practises,” Jebbar said, adding that international quality accreditations and certifications will facilitate Hotpack's access to global markets.

Hotpack has successfully completed an audit before being certified as part of the Verified Exporter project to promote the UAE's export readiness programme in collaboration with SGS Gulf Limited. When potential international buyers look to engage UAE-based exporters for business, the certification will provide a reliable verification process.

Hotpack stated that it will continue to invest in technology and innovation in order to stay ahead of the competition and expand its product line to meet the needs of international markets. Mr. Jebbar stated, "We have enough capacity to go further globally."

As an extension of the UAE country brand, the certification project is tied to the UAE's strategic initiative "Operation 300 billion" and the unified Industrial brand identity under the tagline "Make it in the Emirates." The 10-year comprehensive strategy also intends to increase the contribution of the industrial sector to GDP and raise the country's Competitive Industrial Performance Index to among the top 25 in the world.
