Israeli's Tnuva, has partnered with Emirates Food Industries to help expand the UAE's agricultural sector

Israeli's Tnuva, has partnered with Emirates Food Industries to help expand the UAE's agricultural sector Tnuva, one of Israel's leading food enterprises, and Emirates Food Industries (EFI) have formed a collaboration to advance the UAE's food security goals. The partnership combines EFI's agricultural and food security expertise with Tnuva's expertise in the dairy business and related technology.

Wasfi Kaso, CEO of Emirates Food Industries, stated, "This will help us to move towards a more sustainable, diverse, and secure food future."

By expanding food diversity and increasing production, Emirates Food Industries aims to enhance food sustainability in the UAE. EFI has increased the scale of the farms under its operational control in recent years and is constructing a factory in Al Ain for the manufacturing and processing of dairy products (which will be operated by its subsidiary National Dairy Company).

Both companies struck a licencing arrangement to expand EFI's dairy offerings, beginning with a new plant to make Labneh, a popular Mediterranean cheese. With exchange for royalties, Tnuva will aid in the construction of a production line in Dubai. It was the first contract between Israeli and UAE food producers since the two countries normalised relations, according to Tnuva.

"Later on," Tnuva said, "the activity will encompass support in the creation and production of more items." Tnuva estimates that the licencing agreement, which is for ten years with an option to extend, will bring in "millions of dollars in revenue in the future years."
