The first 3D-printed laboratory in Dubai has set a world record.

Dubai has been awarded a Guinness World Record for building the world's first 3D-printed laboratory.

The award was given to the Robotics and Drone Laboratory at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which is run by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa).

"Dewa's Robotics and Drone laboratory is the first entirely printed building in the UAE, and the first 3D-printed lab in the world," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Dewa's chief executive.

"At Dewa, we are guided by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, to foster innovation and implement the most cutting-edge Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, including 3D printing."

3D printing is regarded as a significant technological advancement since it decreases construction waste, lowers tooling costs, and drastically cuts design-to-production time.

Mr Al Tayer stated that Dewa is investing in 3D printing to develop prototypes and spare parts for the government, economic, health, and scientific sectors.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution's technology encompasses 3D printing.

This is the revolution that brings together physical, digital, and biological technologies to create new products and services in previously unimaginable industries.

Artificial intelligence and automation, 3D or additive printing, human-machine interactions, quantum computing, and sophisticated materials are some of the technologies covered.
