The AD Ports Group said that its Industrial Cities & Free Zone Cluster now has 95 polymers-related enterprises utilising 3,454,457 square metres of land.
The polymer sector has shown increased interest in AD Ports Group's Industrial Cities & Free Zone Cluster, which spans 550 square kilometres of industrial and commercial area and is home to over 1,500 local, regional, and worldwide businesses.
According to a poll conducted by the Abu Dhabi Statistics Centre, the total investment in the Cluster is anticipated to be more than AED140 billion ($38 billion). Today, ZonesCorp and Kizad serve as regional headquarters for a number of well-known plastics and polymer enterprises of various sizes.
Due to its numerous applications across FMCG, food, drinks, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and more, the worldwide polymer market is predicted to increase from $439.28 billion in 2021 to $616.82 billion by 2028, at a cumulative annual growth rate of 5% between 2021 and 2028.
"In line with the rising demand for the development of a robust national polymer sector, we are working with our partners to accelerate investment and innovation in the region's plastics downstream industry," said Abdullah Al Hameli, Head of the Industrial Cities &Free Zone Cluster at AD Ports Group. We are committed to supporting the UAE's industrial policy, which aims to strengthen the industrial sector and enhance its role in stimulating the country's economy, under the supervision of our wise leadership.
"By meeting the needs of companies in the polymer sector with quick and cost-effective access to polymer feedstock, best-in-class manufacturing infrastructure, and logistics services, we are helping to transform Abu Dhabi into a major global hub for polymers conversion, as well as the nation's industrial diversification efforts."
"Industrial Cities & Free Zone Cluster's Kizad Polymers Park was specifically designed for the global plastic and polymers industry and has changed overtime since its launch in 2019, serving as a catalyst to propel the polymers downstream sector in the UAE," said Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer, ZonesCorp.
"Our partnership with stakeholders from across the value chain, including polymer makers, converters, and service providers, underlines our ambitious intentions to become a global polymers hub by 2025 and contribute significantly to the region's GDP and job creation," says the company.
The Kizad Polymers Park, which is part of the Industrial Cities & Free Zone Cluster, is located in a strategic location with excellent logistics and has the capacity to produce up to 400,000 tonnes of plastic products per year. It is extremely valuable to local, regional, and international businesses looking for a stable, efficient, and mature industrial and distributing platform for their next consumer destinations.
The centre serves a variety of polymer segments, including packaging, construction, and semi-finished products; end-use consumers, such as household goods, agricultural, and hygiene products; material science, such as compounded and composite materials, and 3D printing.
