Abu Dhabi to host one of the Middle East's biggest automotive export hubs

AD Ports in Abu Dhabi will collaborate with the Ghassan Aboud Group to establish an automobile export and distribution centre in KIZAD (Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi).

According to the corporations, the facilities would "promote global trade connections by bringing together buyers, sellers, logistics service providers, government enablers, facilitators, and financial service providers."

The complex will be one of the largest in the region, with showrooms, storage, spare parts, workshops, test tracks, auction houses, social and office spaces, as well as logistics, government assistance, and commercial support services. It will also contain a free zone and zones for the trading of passenger and commercial cars, electric vehicles, heavy equipment and machinery, and spare parts.

Mohamed Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO, AD Ports Group said "As part of our commitment to driving national efforts toward the UAE's economic diversification goals and Operation 300bn strategy, AD Ports Group is constantly working to develop state-of-the-art industrial infrastructure across key sectors within our Economic Cities & Free Zones Cluster."

"We believe the Regional Auto Hub – Abu Dhabi will be a key driver in strengthening the UAE's position at the centre of the region's evolving global automotive and mobility supply chain by providing an efficient and integrated business environment that nurtures a highly skilled workforce and enhances operational productivity," he added.

The centre will also use technology to provide a digital platform for automobile trade and export requirements. "It is masterplanned to service the automobile sector in the area and beyond. We believe it will provide us a competitive advantage by providing modern infrastructure, ease of doing business, favourable legislation, and space availability," stated Ghassan Aboud, Chairman of the Ghassan Aboud Group.

This comes only a month after AD Ports and Ghassan Aboud struck a deal to construct a regional food and logistics centre spanning 3.5 square kilometres in KIZAD.

"We are committed to bringing global expertise to the UAE and Abu Dhabi, as well as improving Abu Dhabi's position as a significant economic centre, through our collaboration. We are sure that these new initiatives and public-private investments will pave the way for the UAE to establish itself as an essential axis for future growth," said Aboud.
