As "a land of opportunity," the Democratic Republic of Congo shows off its vast potential.


In Dubai, the UAE and DRC Business Symposium, with Congolese ministers emphasising the economic benefits of extending their trade and development potential.


Minister of Foreign Trade Jean-Lucien Bussa Tongba addressed the DRC.'It is commonly believed that the Democratic Republic of Congo is a land of opportunity,' she says, adding, 'But the country has not yet been transformed and has not been fully explored and utilised.'


At Dubai Expo 2020, dignitaries commemorated the DRC's National Day. 'We wanted to bring the Democratic Republic of Congo and all of its assets to Dubai because we know it's a meeting hotspot,' says the official and that it is possible to present the Democratic Republic of the Congo, like a mirror, providing solutions and assets to help the world overcome the challenges that it faces,' said Congolese President Felix Tshisekedi.


With a population of more than 80 million people, the DRC is Africa's second-largest country.


Although the country is well recognised for its mining industry, it also wants to grow its agriculture sector. The DRC imports the majority of its essential goods, and despite having 80 million hectares of land, barely 10% of it is now used.


According to Anthony Nkinzo, the Managing Director of the DRC's National Agency for Investment Promotion,


'The Democratic Republic of Congo is diversifying its investments. Of course, we have mines, but the agro-industry is the most important. We have the energy, some infrastructure in place and others in the works, as well as new information technologies, such as digital, tourism, and, of course, education and health. These various areas will contribute to our country's development.'


The DRC is rich in culture and legacy, in addition to trade and industry.The country, which has the world's second-largest rainforest, is a biodiversity hotspot.
