The University of Birmingham and Dubai Academic Health Corporation (DAHC) have teamed up to look into possible research and educational partnerships that would support the strategic healthcare goal of the emirate.
At the DAHC headquarters in Dubai, Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of DAHC and President of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Professor Adam Tickell, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Birmingham, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
To enhance DACH's mission of advancing human health, professionals from the two institutions will collaborate on research projects to meet local and regional needs.
Additionally, the MoU will allow student exchanges between undergraduate and graduate programmes, offer options for PhD co-supervision, and establish professional development opportunities.
A collaborative steering group will be formed by the University of Birmingham and the DAHC to create cooperation priorities, some of which may be related to mental health, health economics, advanced practise in healthcare, bioinformatics, and health data science.
"We think that lasting and scalable change can only occur when the proper partners come together," Dr. Amer Sharif remarked. Our collaboration with the University of Birmingham is based on a shared dedication to intellectual achievement and scientific advancement in support of the organization's "Patient First" objective. Quality-driven, evidence-based, patient-centered care will advance as a result of combining resources and skills.
We are rightfully proud of our expertise in clinical medical research and healthcare education, said Professor Adam Tickell. With this agreement, the University of Birmingham and Dubai Academic Health Corporation will begin a fascinating phase of collaboration. We are dedicated to doing our part to help Dubai as it advances health and well-being through knowledge and innovation as a global university with a civic orientation.
