A memorandum of collaboration was signed by UAE's Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) and Uruguay's Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mining during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025.

Christian Nieves Lauz, National Energy Director of Uruguay's Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mining, and Nawal Al Hanaee, Director of MoEI's Future Energy Department, signed the memorandum, which calls for the two parties to exchange information and experience, host high-level discussion meetings, and host workshops in energy-related topics.

Al Hanaee emphasized that such partnerships play a significant role in facilitating the transition to clean and renewable energy. This collaboration will help both countries diversify their energy mix and increase the use of clean energy, thereby opening up wide horizons for growth and development.

Furthermore, she added that, as it creates a foundation for cooperation to promote important areas like renewable energy and climate change, this pact underlines both sides' shared commitment to forging strategic alliances for their mutual benefit.
