The second phase of the Green Data Centre of Data Hub Integrated Solutions (Moro Hub), a division of Digital DEWA, was opened by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and UAE Minister of Finance. The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park complex serves as more evidence of Dubai's dedication to sustainability and digital development.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated the first phase of the Green Data Centre in 2023, and it now holds the Guinness World Record for being the largest solar-powered data centre in the world.

During his visit, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum toured facility and was briefed by His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the company's Managing Director and CEO of DEWA. Digital transformation, cloud computing, cybersecurity, smart cities, and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies will be addressed in the second phase.

The centre, according to HE Al Tayer, is evidence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's visionary leadership and Dubai's ambitions to become a global destination for digital innovation and sustainability. Al Tayer pointed out that, “This milestones support the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy, both of which are aiming to achieve 100% clean energy production by 2050.”

A notable group of officials, tech titans, and international organisations attended the inauguration. Major General Tamim Mohammed Al-Muhairi, Lieutenant-General Awad Hader Al-Muhairi, and CEOs of well-known IT companies including Dell, Cisco, and Microsoft were among those present.

Given that Moro Hub's infrastructure helps businesses increase operational effectiveness and lower carbon emissions, these collaborations demonstrate UAE's dedication to sustainability and digital innovation.

The Green Data Center's Phase Two is a global model for combining digital technologies with renewable energy. The centre promotes a green ecology for the area and is in line with the UAE's clean energy policies by providing sustainable digital solutions.

The facility, which is the biggest solar-powered data centre in the world, demonstrates Dubai's leadership in sustainability and innovation while helping businesses achieve operational efficiency and carbon neutrality.
