Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) MD & CEO, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer received a high-level delegation from the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), the premier US organization for electric power research and development, led by EPRI President and CEO Arshad Mansoor. The meeting looked at how to improve cooperation in training sessions that covered energy storage technologies, grid modernization, renewable energy, and other topics. Enhancing strategic cooperation in R&D, sustainability, and innovation in the energy industry were among its main objectives.
The meeting was attended by Ghanem Al Qassim, Senior Manager of Solar Power at DEWA, and Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA.
Throughout the meeting, Al Tayer emphasized DEWA's dedication to working with world-class research and innovation hubs to enhance national capabilities and provide them with the knowledge and abilities necessary to take the lead in the future, play important roles in climate action, and speed up the energy transition and digital transformation. Building a more sustainable future based on cutting-edge and environmentally friendly solutions to achieve the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, which aim to provide 100% of Dubai's energy production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050, is in line with DEWA's overarching vision to promote sustainability and global objectives.
Specialized programs and training courses in a range of subjects, including smart grids, energy efficiency, asset management analysis, cyber security, sustainability in the electric power industry, data analysis, renewable energy systems, and photovoltaic system integration, are among the areas in which DEWA and EPRI collaborate. In addition to giving researchers and engineers the chance to share technical experience and broaden their understanding of the most recent advancements in the area, these programs are essential in helping DEWA staff foresee and design a sustainable future.
