Silver Box Acquires Kenyan Automaker Mobius Motors

Automaker Mobius Motors, based in Kenya, will resume operations following the completion of its takeover by investor Silver Box, based in the Middle East.

The investor has already reopened the Mobius Motors service center and started car maintenance at the Nairobi garage. By July 2025, Mobius 3 production is anticipated to speed up again, and in December 2025, a brand-new 4x4 off-road SUV type will be introduced. The business will enter a new phase that focuses on expanding its market and access.

A change in leadership has also resulted from this transaction; Nicolas Guibert has been replaced as Chief Operating Officer (COO) by John Kavila.

"It is a great honor for me to be in charge of Mobius Motors at this pivotal point in its history," Kavila remarked. "Now that we have a strong foundation in place, we will concentrate on growing our market share and bringing our cars to Kenyan buyers."

British national Joel Jackson founded Mobius in 2009 when he was employed in Kenya. In 2014, the company introduced a streamlined SUV model that was "built for African roads." Compared to the market costs of typical SUVs in Kenya, the first model's 10,000 USDĀ price tag was far lower.

Mobius Motors wants to reinvent locally made automobiles with fresh funding, a new leadership team, and a well-defined growth plan. More expensive and adaptable versions for Kenya's diverse driving conditions may soon be available on the country's roads as production increases.
