ROX has commenced local vehicle production at its Advanced AI Manufacturing Centre in Abu Dhabi, with the first three ROX ADAMAS vehicles carrying the “Made in the Emirates” mark rolling off the production line. The development marks a significant step in the company’s expansion and supports the UAE’s ambitions to strengthen its automotive manufacturing sector.
Located within Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), the 10,000-square-metre facility supports vehicle assembly, component sub-assembly, calibration, testing and final inspection. It enables the local sub-assembly of more than 80 types of vehicle components and aims to strengthen domestic supply chains, technology development and manufacturing capabilities.
The facility is expected to achieve an initial production capacity of 20,000 vehicles annually, with plans to scale up to 300,000 vehicles per year. The project is supported by the UAE’s “Make it in the Emirates” initiative and aligns with the country’s broader industrial strategy to attract investment, localise advanced industries and expand export opportunities.
ROX is also developing its artificial intelligence, design and research capabilities in Abu Dhabi through a dedicated AI LAB and Design Studio. The company plans to introduce its first UAE-designed vehicle, the ROX ADAMAS Abu Dhabi Edition, incorporating elements inspired by Emirati culture. These initiatives are expected to further integrate design, technology and manufacturing while positioning Abu Dhabi as a base for the company’s international expansion.
