Inauguration of 1.2MW Solar System by DIR and Al Mujama

Dubai Investment Real Estate (DIR), Al Mujama, Yellow Door Energy (YDE), and Clyde Engineering officially opened a 1.2 MW solar power system in line with the UAE's 2050 Clean Energy Strategy and Net Zero by 2050 Target.

In Dubai Investments Park's residential community of RITAJ, there are nine residential towers that are home to the solar power system. In the first year of operation, the 1.9 million kilowatt-hours of clean power produced by the more than 2,000 solar panels mounted on the building rooftops met 30% of the facility's energy requirements. Reducing carbon emissions by 756,000 kg year is the equal of this.

"The Dubai Land Department values the inauguration of a 1.2MW solar power plant by Dubai Investment Real Estate, Al Mujama, Yellow Door Energy, and Clyde Engineering," said Mohammed Bin Hammad, Senior Director of Jointly held Properties at Dubai Land Department. This initiative reflects the vision of our astute leadership and is in line with our strategic aim of fostering innovation in the real estate industry. This public-private partnership exemplifies how partnerships can bring about significant change and emphasizes the value of working together to achieve sustainability goals by using solar energy to meet a large portion of the needs in the RITAJ residential community. We commend each and every one of our partners for their commitment to environmental stewardship and anticipate additional projects that advance our real estate industry."

It is a privilege for Al Mujama to be able to contribute significantly to the UAE's sustainable future through the installation of the solar power system. By lowering energy use, this program not only demonstrates the company's ongoing dedication to sustainability but also saves the inhabitants a substantial amount of money. It raises the bar for jointly owned properties in terms of promoting significant, environmentally beneficial transformation. Clean energy production helps communities now and ensures a better, more resilient future for future generations. It also promotes a greener, more affordable way of life. Obaid Salami, General Manager of Dubai Investment Real Estate, said, "Al Mujama is committed to setting the standard in environmental stewardship and innovation, and we look forward to continuing to set new benchmarks in sustainable residential living."

"We are striving to ensure all our communities are operated in the most cost-effective and energy-efficient manner to provide the best possible value to the owners," said Mansoor Serkal, General Manager of Al Mujama. Furthermore he stated, “Together with our energy consultant Clyde Engineering and solar producer Yellow Door Energy, we have been working very hard. We have already reduced our communal energy expenses by more than 18% thus far. Ritaj is committed to environmental preservation, and we're happy to report that 30% of our energy needs are met by solar energy.”

"Yellow Door Energy is honouring to partner with Dubai Investment Real Estate and Al Mujama on this solar lease, marking a significant stride in advancing sustainability efforts in the UAE," said Jeremy Crane, Group CEO of Yellow Door Energy. “We are pleased to add this significant accomplishment to our ever expanding portfolio of accomplished projects in the United Arab Emirates and abroad, where we have been given contracts for 240 MW of solar energy. As the top solar developer in Africa and the Middle East, we are thrilled to assist companies in making the switch to clean energy, cutting their electricity expenses, and actively participating in the United Arab Emirates' Net Zero by 2050 Initiative”, He added.

"Clyde Engineering congratulates the forward-thinking management of Dubai Investment Real Estate and Al Mujama on the successful completion of the first JOP rooftop solar plant," stated Philip Mills, CEO of Clyde Engineering. This initiative will significantly reduce the Ritaj Community's carbon footprint. This project was carried out with the client paying no capital costs and with assured solar generation. Consequently, it benefits the Ritaj owners as well as the environment.

In line with the UAE's goal of Net Zero by 2050, the opening of the solar power plant represents a significant step toward sustainable development and energy efficiency in the real estate industry. The partnership combines environmental stewardship with technology innovation to create a model for integrating renewable energy solutions into residential communities and open doors for more sustainable initiatives
