Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) with a steady supply of renewable energy, Masdar and Infinity Power have inked a power purchase deal. A wind farm constructed on land near Ras Ghareb, Egypt, will provide the energy source. When constructed, it will probably have a 200MW capacity and produce 810,000MWh yearly.

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and other government representatives, together with prominent project stakeholders, attended a signing ceremony at the Egyptian Cabinet in Al-Alamein.

"We are thrilled to announce the construction of the Ras Ghareb wind farm, a project that symbolises Infinity Power's steadfast commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions," stated Mohamed Ismail Mansour, chairman of Infinity Power. "This project not only strengthens our position in Egypt but also makes a major contribution to our local impact in the renewables sector by creating these employment. We remain committed to raising our efforts toward a cleaner, greener future," he added.

Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Masdar CEO stated, "We will deliver 200MW of clean energy to the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) through Infinity Power, a Masdar Infinity company, producing over 800,000MWh and offsetting more than 403,000 tonnes of emissions annually. We are one step closer to realizing Africa's potential for clean energy and accelerating the clean energy transition with this milestone."
