2016 BMW 7 Series revealed in Dubai

As part of an exclusive viewing held at their Sheikh Zayed Road showroom, AGMC pulled the wraps off the hotly-anticipated all-new BMW 7 Series. Giving Team AutoMiddleEast and a select few individuals a detailed walk-around of the car, were Osman Abdelmoneim, General Manager at AGMC and Michael Keller, Regional Marketing Manager at BMW Group Middle East.

Ahead of its premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in mid-September, the BMW 7 Series has proved once again why it is consistently amongst the Group’s best-selling vehicles. Setting new benchmarks within the segment, the latest instalment of the flagship sedan is set to arrive in three luxury packages (Pure Excellence, M-Sport and Individual Design) across showrooms by the end of the year.

Standing 130kg lighter than its predecessor thanks to a lightweight Carbon Core, the sixth generation 7 Series offers innovative features both, inside and out. Inside the vehicle, a 7-inch Samsung tablet located along the rear central armrest offers passengers a new experience in controlling various in-car functions such as the infotainment setup and the in-seat massage system. While on the outside, there’s BMW’s Laser Light headlamp technology and illuminated panoramic roof aptly named Sky Lounge.

Speaking at the BMW 7 Series Closed Room event, Osman Abdelmoneim, General Manager at AGMC said: “AGMC is very excited to have the vehicle available for private viewings at our Sheikh Zayed showroom for the entire month of Ramadan. So far we have seen great interest and demand for the all-new BMW 7 Series and we are looking forward to having the first cars delivered to our customers in October this year.”

On the performance frontier, the 7 Series welcomes two comprehensively revised engines; a 6-cylinder unit found in the 740Li and an 8-cylinder unit found in the 750iLi xDrive. The former offering an impressive 326 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, while the latter’s 450 horsepower catapults it to the 100 km/h mark in just 4.4 seconds. For the Green Panthers, there’s also a 4-cylinder variant scheduled to be a part of the lineup early next year– more on that in the near future.
