DI is to contribute 26.75 per cent of the equity for the $200 million (Dh734 million) project.

King’s College Hospital, an NHS trust and one of the UK’s leading teaching hospitals, already operates a clinic in Abu Dhabi, which celebrated its first anniversary recently.

The new 80-100 bed hospital in Dubai Hills is due to open in 2018, and will specialise in paediatrics, endocrinology, orthopaedics, and obstetrics and gynaecology, as well as offering acute and general medical services.

The clinics are due to open in late 2016 and 2017.

Staff will be fully integrated with the London hospital, with a “significant proportion” of staff relocating from London to Dubai, DI said in a press release.
